Father's Day - June 21st

Father's Day Gift Ideas
Did you know that this year is the Centennial Father’s Day celebration? Father’s Day was first celebrated either by Grace Clayton and the other parishioners at William Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South in 1908 or by Sonoma Dodd, of Spokane Washington, after listening to a sermon regarding Mother’s Day, in 1909.

Although considered to become a National Holiday as early as 1924, President Coolidge’s recommendation did not bear fruit until President Johnson first designated the 3rd Sunday of June to be Father’s Day in 1966 and it became a National Holiday in 1972.

So we celebrate our fathers, father figures, etc., on this special day to show our love and gratitude for the special part they play in our lives. Whatever you do for Father's Day - call, send a card, give a gift - take the time to do something for those you care about. I celebrate my father, my father-in-law, my husband and my sons!

Order by Tuesday, June 16th to guarantee arrival before Father's Day.
